I left a very positive review of this soap some time ago.
But since I suffered SSAD, I haven't used this soap for a few months.
Until today.
Big was my surprise when I opened the lid of the ceramic bowl I used to store a slice of this soap in.
It looked dried out on top and the sweet almond smell of amaretto/marsepain was replaced by a more faint bitter almond smell.
I was a bit worried that the performance was altered too, but once I lathered up, my fear disappeared immediately.
The lather was thick, dense, creamy and slick as never before and gave me one of my best shaves ever.
BBS is shaving nirvana to me, but it was definitely a DFS++.
It gave me a lot of protection from my 39C loaded with Astra, while at the same time letting me to shave close.
After 3 passes and touch ups, I still saw a shadow over my entire beard area, but once I rinsed with very cold water it became clear that I shaved very close after all.
Perhaps it DOES bring the beard up as claimed by them.
The point is that some people don't like the overly sweet scent of this soap. But after using it a few times and leaving it for a longer time, the scent goes from sweet almond to a mote bitter almond and I have the impression that also the performance improves (which was already good).
