Oumo brush 7th anniversary sale

I just caught this sale going on. On their website. "7th anniversary celebration: 2024.4.17-4.24 All Knots 10% OFF/ALL Handles 20% OFF/TWOFACE Collection 10% OFF (Automatic Discount)"
I've never had an Oumo brush so I am not recommending them, just a notice for the sale I saw. I'm tempted to buy one. Considering a 27mm Warhammer with ST-1 synthetic knot.

I’ve bought a couple Oumo brushes and loose Oumo knots, they’re pretty good and have a distinctive look. My view is they are decent quality and solid value. There’s some murkiness in the knot descriptions and some hair grades from years ago have been processed quite heavily.

The handles are quite robust, I don’t think you’ll be disappointed with one.

Their descriptions really are the worst. But like you said their handles are solid, and they do seem to make some good knots if you can figure out which one actually suits your needs.

I have a number of their brushes - the handles are exquisite at a minimum.

The super fiber ST-1 is okay, especially at the price. A a very minor step down from the Muehle STF. I have an EX Density ST-1 and very much like it.

Most of their badger is now two band. I prefer softer knots so I prefer the M-4 over the other Manchuria knots. I really like the Tyrant T-4, and Emperor E-3 which is a silvertip.

I have ordered their 3 newest knots as they say they are moving to more natural processing (hair selection instead of hair treatment). The 7th Anniversary, the Kirin, and the Unsullied (the name says it all). Don't have them yet.

I find their tables are pretty spot on in terms of describing the knots (this is for the A-1):

I should add they do the tables relative to their brushes, so you have to have one of them to be able to figure out what the others will be like. Also, you do not want the Sparrow. I have an Alpha T-400 which has a Muehle Silvertip Badger knot. I slightly prefer my Oumo E-3. That may help you with the tables.

Ditto, ditto
My only experience with them is their ChongQing loose boar knots. They are dense, stiff, and have fairly soft tips. Can't comment on life, but, they shed quite a bit the first 2-3 shaves before they settle in.

If you order 2 or three handles and knots how can you let them know which knot goes with which handle? Also how can you request a certain loft?
I’ve emailed them After 2 of my orders with a request and they respond back promptly. I told them to go with their loft recommendation, but I’m sure they can easily be directed to match knots with handle choices.

Will they do lower than their loft recommendation? I asked these same questions in their chat but they never responded. Today is the last day of the sale. Wondering which of the under $40 knots have the most backbone. I wish they were consistent and all knots have the chart but they don't. Can't believe vendors trying to sell their product but are inconsistent like this.

reading the description for the Unsullied knot, it's confusing to say the least.

>>>‘Unsullied’ has a stronger scratching than ‘Kirin’, which is the difference in raw materials. ‘Kirin’ comes from Meles meles, and ‘Unsullied’ comes from Hog-Badger.

Is this a blend of badger and boar? Never heard of hog-badger. I do like my Semogue Mistura which is a blend of boar and badger. Wish this was more clear before making an uninformed purchase.

I saw that description too. I kind of chalked it up to translating from Chinese to english.
