Organic Grooming by Herban Cowboy: Dusk.

So, I'm here to do a review on a hand soap. I don't think I would be here, doing a review on a hand soap if it weren't something that hit me right in the scent memory. The soap in question is an Organic Grooming soap by Herban Cowboy. The scent is Dusk.

When I was a teenager and had just started shaving I was gifted shaving lotion and talc made by Avon. Black Suede.

I remember it because when I got it I immediately loved the smell. My school mates probably hated me because, at 14 not only did I already have a beard and was shaving every day, but I was in love with this stuff.

Still am, in a different format. I don't think you could pay me to use the Avon shave lotion. Love the smell, it never agreed with my skin. As the name implies it's an organic soap and is 100% vegan which are definitely selling points. The fragrance is probably deadly though. Oh well.

The soap itself isn't going to blow you away, it's soap. Nice creamy lather, gets dirt off effectively.

If you haven't smelled either Black Suede or Dusk then I'll try to describe it for you. As much good as that'll do.

The scent itself, in any format, smells soapy. That sort of raw ivory soap smell. But that's the mid note. There is a distinct lack of top note and the bottom note, the majority of the fragrance is decidedly brand new rubber and as if lavender and sage had a love child. It doesn't smell like either.

At any rate, if you want a soap that's going to smell like a cheap cologne and will stick with you for a few hours well this is the soap for you. If you liked Black Suede and happened across the smell in the soap aisle then you've got it all right here. For everyone else, don't buy it online. This is likely to be a hate or love proposition. Definitely buy in person.

6/10 Will buy more, I can see how some people would hate it.
