Some of you may remember that I posted a PIF for a starter kit last summer before I went off to school. I had a few entries but nothing perfectly satisfied my criteria (which I now admit were a little strict). I still have all of this stuff and, with the holidays upon us, I decided I would start a new PIF using the same gear from the previous one. Here's what's in it:
-Aluminum ball-end Tech (I got a little overzealous when boiling razors and threw this one in...d'oh!)
-Black-tip Superspeed (The handle is a tad bit chewed up and the TTO sticks a bit)
(Both of these razors are a little rough, put with some elbow grease you could make them look great)
-Van der Hagen soap
-TOBS Rose Shave cream (one of my favorites, it's the jar on the bottom)
-Arko Moist shave cream (another one of my favorites)
-adidas Dynamic Pulse aftershave
-Saint Charles Shave Mediterranean Citrus aftershave sample
-SCS Sandalwood aftershave sample
-Old Spice Pure Sport aftershave (In the red-lidded bottle...this is probably my favorite aftershave. It was the first real aftershave I used)
-Gillette ProSeries intense cooling aftershave lotion
-adidas Ice Dive EdT
-Ogallala Bay Rum sample (a little under half left)
-Art of Shaving sample set (includes pre-shave oil, cream, aftershave balm)
-One each of the following blades (Shark Super Stainless, Shark, Derby, Gillette Yellow, Astra Superior Platinum)
-Empty blade holder (there's a slot for used blades)
-Sample spoons to scoop the cream out
The rules last time were that the member receiving this stuff had to be in high school, no access to a credit card, blah blah blah. I'm going to change the rules this time around so they're more fitting given the holiday season.
The new rules are:
If you have a son/stepson/grandson/young male family friend between the ages of 15 and 19 who is interested in wetshaving but he/you/his family does not have the financial means to buy any gear, this is for you. I'd also ask that you please only take the PIF if you have good faith that he will actually use everything. For example, this would be perfect for someone who has a son that has indicated that he wants to start wetshaving but no one in your family has enough money to buy any "starter gear."
All of that being said, if it turns out there are some items that he doesn't like using or there are things that don't agree with his skin, encourage him to give it to a friend PIF it through the forums.
A third rule, which is optional because I admit it's a little cheesy, is that you can wait for Christmas morning/Christmas Eve/whenever your family opens Christmas gifts to give this to him. Again, this is entirely up to you.
And there you have it! Since I want the young man receiving this gear to have all of it by Christmas, I'm giving this away on a first come first served basis. Just PM me with your situation and who the gear will be going to. This is based on the honor system so if you tell me about a make-believe son I'll still believe you since there's no way of me knowing. I really don't expect that to happen, though. You're all great people that that's why I want to give this to the son/stepson/friend of someone on these forums (or is it fora?
