I shave every day with my EJ DE89 and although my whiskers are quite coarse and wiry they aren't particularly fast growing so there's maybe only 1-2mm of growth to be shaved off. This being the case, an open comb razor won't make much difference; right or wrong?

It always depends on the razor and blade, each one is different. I shave daily and currently use open comb. I easily use my 34c or HD Rocket, but I currently prefer my open combs.
