What's new

one year later

it was a year ago this day i joined this site, and though i have only tried a few soaps, and even fewer DE blades, there are a few things i have learned.

1)not all soaps are created equal. 2) yes! stropping makes a big difference. 3) just because you have the str8 shave down, doesnt mean you can pick up a SE and just go to town all willy nilly. (learned that the hard way)
4) this forum has a fantastic group of guys and gals, users and mods alike. it is the second forum ive ever belonged to and the first was much the same, so i thought this was the norm. not so much i have found out recently. (though most of that opinion comes from the forum just being run horribly. not the people in it)
5) i have found a hobby i can say i will stick with for life. 6) RAD never really go's away. 7) wet shaving is NOT going to save me money. (see number 6)
8) i think i have done pretty well considering,,, i have done nothing playing the safe route. between buying vintage blades, strops, and stones, honing, shaving,,,,i made it through pretty well. am i lucky? or just more gooder? :001_smile
more gooder me thinks. :001_cool:

anyway,, thank you all for the guidance. looking forward to many more years of bbs':straight:
