The short answer is that I did already. I bought three 11Cs and one 12C at Pasteur Pharmacy and two other 12Cs from Superior Shave. Both vendors had some NOS, and, as far as I know may very well still have some pieces left. I did not clean them out. I bought several b/c of the shoddy workmanship in Merkur's products, I wanted to ensure I had one of these beauties. I think that these less aggressive OCs are brilliant alternatives to the aggressive ones, and to the mild safety bar razors. I also bought two 39Cs when the rumor was floated that slants were being discontinued.

I've heard about the "Craftsmanship" of the merkurs, but didn't know it warranted multiples of the same razor. Are you sure your not just buying them up to satisfy your RAD?!

There is no doubt that RAD figures in. However, my Merkur 38C, which is 5 years old is out being replated because it is chipping away at the corners; and I have not used it much in the last couple of years since I discovered vintage Gillettes, Muhles and others. However, it was indeed a bit overboard and I will probably unload some in the future.

By the way, as a "minor" collector, I have several each of redtips, fatboys, slim adjustables, super adjustables and several superspeeds. I will probably hit the BST one day.

LOVE my 12c! I've trimmed my stash down to a handful of razors, and it's the only one I've ever thought about buying a back-up for. It doesn't get as much use anymore as the others, but if I could only have one......

I too own the 11c. Its a great razor, and I'm sorry to see that Merkur is discontinuing it. I don't see the reasoning behind them doing this.
