Omega Shaving Soap in a bowl

I just came from Ebay and was looking at the Omega shaving set. It has the omega brush, the brush holder, and the shaving soap in the plastic bowl for 19.95 + Free shipping.
So is this a good deal or no? Feel free to give me any thoughts on this you may have. As all will be welcomed. I have nevet tried their soap. Thanks in advance!

i have never used it nor heard of it. i would recommend passing on the soap unless you want a challenge. There are too many great ones, out there.
Cella, MWF, MIke's Natural, Mystic Water, Queen Charlotte, Mama Bears, etc.

It's a good deal, nothing wrong with Omega gear.

Actually it's pretty good. Omega is very similar to Proraso soap, and their brushes tend to be pretty good too. Go for it.

+1 on Kenno's reply. I bought this set about a month ago. I love the brush and holder. The holder is perfect to hold the brush in a cup of hot water while you shower. I have not yet used a lot of soaps. But Omega's is fine. I would rank it a notch above VDH and Col. Conk, and it is easier to use than MWF ( I have quite a time getting a decent lather out of that stuff. But I have managed it a couple of times, and it has given me a superior shave). I got my set from WCS and I think I may have paid a little less for it. Check them out before you jump at the ebay one.

I just got an Omega tub yesterday (last-minute add-on to Amazon order to get free shipping) & tried it out this AM. I thought it was pretty good stuff. Very neutral in terms of scent, but good quality.

I don't know about the kit or the brush, but the soap is a pretty quality product. Not expensive, mind you, but it lathers well and gives a good shave.

The second formulation, the one I have, is basically the same as the the old formulation Proraso. If yours contains menthol, its a great soap. I don't have any experience with the current formulation.

Ok, thanks for the replies, I am gonna pull the trigger on this one and give'er a shot! I heard alot of good things about Proraso and if it is close to the same soap or really is the same soap it should be worth a try. The brush and holder + free shipping makes it feel like a sweet deal and if it really is better than the VDH, well then I am going to be one happy camper.
Ok, I went and did the deed. I checked west coast shaving and they do have it for 15.00. but the shipping brought it to around a dollar (give or take some cents) so I went with the Ebay seller.

I have the formula without menthol (for which I am thankful since I am allergic to menthol), and it performs great for me. Of course I've never tried the formulation with menthol so I don't know how those two compare.

Proraso and Omega were once made by the same company but they are made by different companies now.

I just got it and tried it today. It does not contain menthol but does have some eucalyptus. This stuff is good! I might even stock up when I get paid again even though this bowl/tub should last a really long time. I LOVE IT!

I would say go for the set. Omega products are very good in my opinion.

I bought it. I like the brush (after the break in period, which was short). Only tried the soap once and I was in a hurry, but I was not real fond of it. I plan on giving it another try when I have more time to see if my view of the soap differently. I say go for it.

It is the stuff with the not so white, more pearl colored, warmed up wax/taffy like feel to it with the mildest of scents. It is in the black container.
