What's new

Old-style Rotrings

Why do they seem to be going so high on the auction site whose name shall not be mentioned?
Specifically, one like this:

Didn't know the fountain pens went for so much. I've always loved the 600 fountain pen design.

This is my 600 roller ball and pencil set. I've been using them since the 90's.

The pen weighs in at 47 grams and the pencil weighs 20 grams they have a great feel in
the hand.

I've got a black one identical to the silver one. It's not near the condition because I use it all the time.
I work at a prison & since I can't carry any weapons, per se, I carry that pen...it'd do just as much damage. ;)

You could drive over this thing with a truck and not sustain damage. I'll sell this boat anchor on eBay and be able to afford the new tortoise 800 Pelikan.

Nice! I'd take the Pelikan over a Rotring any day. Why are they so expensive, though? Just scarcity?

I've no idea and hadn't noticed until I read this thread, I bought that in a closeout back in 2005. A rather good investment. :001_cool:

Sadly, I have a 600 rollerball that has a busted retention spring/clip on the cap, and I miss using this pen. I love a heavy pen, maybe I'll get another, but not sure I want to pay these prices, lol

When I first got my mech .5 pencil I thought it was heavy until I got used to it. I still am afraid I will damage the tip by dropping it.

I killed the tip on my Koh-I-Noor 5640 Rapidomatic by dropping it.

I'm not sure which came first the Koh-I-Noor or the Rotring.

If you like a medium nib, it writes smooth as butter.
Personally, i'm a F to XF guy so this bad boy is too bold for my liking!
