You can buy a blade bank at most online shops that hold blades safely for disposal.
You can put them in the back of the blade dispenser, if you have a blade dispenser
or you can make a blade bank out of a stock can (there is a thread here on how to do it, and it is ridiculously cheap).

Personally, I use an old Coke can, but I am not that original.

A 4 or 5oz tin, used to contain coconut milk. Easy ...........

Snap them in half, then shove them in your ears.

The fastest and easiest way I know is just use an old Altoids tin for a blade bank.
I use the 3 R's method for blade disposal
Re-wrap blades in their original wax paper
Re-insert the rewrapped blades into their original box
Re-turn the box to the store and exchange it for a new set of blades
What store do you shop at? Are you sure you are not getting a pack of blades you already returned?

Blade bank works well. If you happen to be both anal and OCD, a small sharps container does the job.

I use an empty quart yogurt tub that i have cut a slot in the lid so when it is full i'll be in the ground
I put them in the back of the container they come in like you're supposed to. Save for Kai all my blades come with a place to dispose of them.
With all the sarcastic answers, I can't believe nobody said flush them
Can you imagine the plumbers nightmare THAT would be?
I wonder if they would really be worse than some of the other stuff people flush that shouldn't be.
