Over the weekend I picked up a vintage ABC pocket set much like the one pictured below [taken from http://badgerandblade.com/vb/showthread.php?p=2367307#post2367307 ]
My case has no label on the inside of the lid and the razor is different. My razor has a gold toned single ring tapered shell handle, but the head seems to be that of a Goodwill. More over the top of the handle shows signs of filing as if modified to make the exterior profile less flared. It doesn't seem to be the result of a repair as I don't see any evidence of this.
So just how odd is the combination of the ABC handle and a Goodwill head? An owner adaptation perhaps? Would the handle really need to have been modified?
Any thoughts?
Here's a few more...I've been trying to help him figure out what it is...
