I tried watching the documentary. I LOVE documentaries, but this one was a bit long to watch. I prefer Food Inc

Movies/racket pieces like "Food, Inc." are, to paraphrase someone on this board, 'pinup characters of what is wrong with this country'.
Just like Michael Moore's rubbish.

You disagree that having conglomerates controlling our food supply has lead to serious compromises in food quality leading to health issues?

It is a major factor, I lost a lot of weight in the last year and a half. I managed it by getting counseling to help with my will power and get to the root cause of my obesity, because at the end of the day getting fat is physical manifestation of your mindset. I also cut back on a lot of processed foods and stuck to cooking my own meals with fresh ingredients (I didn't go into the whole organic kick people are obsessed about), not only did it help my waistline but I noticed other differences such less body odor, having more energy, better skin, and digestion. I went on a two week tour of Germany with my band back in May and we had to eat processed food almost exclusively I had oily skin, rotten B.O. and irregular digestion for 3 weeks after I got back, not to mention I put on 15lbs which I am in the process of losing again.

Gotta feed everyone somehow. 99.5% of the world won't/can't grow food for itself so we pay to have it done for us. What I dislike is political hit pieces that are touted as "documentary". Have an opinion... that's great... but for the love of God... PLEASE have an opinion based on something other than the copy of "Food, Inc." that you picked up at the local Redbox. That's all I ask. Otherwise I'll take responsibility for what I eat, how I get it, how much I pay for it, etc... it is (including any problems contained therein) my choice.

You're wrong because only the USA has a messed up food system and Europe is the shining city on the hill. Everyone should be like Europe. :)

Looks like a nice thread to warm up the "zero tolerance" barber shop policy before election season kicks in full swing!

Opinions on the show are, of course, welcome in this thread.
