OK, this is likely "it." I didn't get any irritation on the alum yesterday morning either.

This morning a little bit where I blade buffed a trouble spot. Will try Co9T and see what it has to "say." ;-)

Sometimes I just get that warm sensation that builds for several seconds. Great stuff. Love the smell.

I get that with VIBR as well. Veg, Citrus Musk, and the other Pinaud types I get an immediate burn. Ogallala, Captain's BR/Limes, and Floid Blue I get no burn.
Co9T and VIBR go on cold, and I can feel the flame build. Really neat feeling.

I have noticed more burn if I pat my face dry first, which makes sense. Still, I was expecting more burn from Co9T than I'm getting. That's not a problem since I love the smell and the way it conditions my skin.

I had my first shave with my Gillette Slim birthday razor yesterday after starting my DE saga with an EJ DE89.

I finally discovered the burn!

I guess my shaves have improved more that I realized. No worries about the Slim though - I'll adjust my technique.

Who doesn't enjoy the burn? Sometimes I'll sandpaper my face- then slather on the Co9T just to get fired up!



Edit: Or just let me use a straight- same result.

I can't comment on CO9T, but I've never been burned by VIBR, which according to everything I've read, is supposed to do this

Of course, I started using Thayer's Superhazel after I shave, so it probably fixes any irritation I might have right up. I'd probably get some burn if I went straight for the VIBR.

I tried it once and got a 2 or 3 minute burn. More than I like really. I blade buff against the grain with no later, so I am irritating my skin somewhat even if careful. Bbs shave is worth it though.

It means that your not getting aggressive enough with your razor while shaving!
