bought a Gilette Tech and the seller nicely threw in some Personna blades so I could get started. I have ordered a sample pack from West Coast Shaving but this pack of Personnas let me get right to it.
so I watched the Mantic youtube videos, screwed up my courage and decided to try it.
didn't shave this morning so was carrying a good growth of beard. I shave in the shower and already use a badger brush and some good soap from Honybee. so I did my regular lather up and off I went with my new razor...
wow! what a great experience. I did not slice off my nose, or slash my throat. it was not nearly as hard or difficult as I expected (or some of the stuff i've read makes it sound). and while I didn't get a perfect shave by any means (and had to break out the Mach 4 to finish up) I can definitely tell where the Tech did the shaving and it is amazingly smooth! I've got lots to learn and much technique to perfect but nary a nick or a cut and a few patches that are bbs - what more can you ask for?
if you're a newbie and you're scared to try it - don't be! I can already see that wet shaving is the way to go!
