What's new

New toy for work

As kids, most of us has Swiss army knives with really tiny blades. I still remember mine with the built-in tweezers and plastic toothpick. This is what I picked up today. It's very basic, but very sharp. It will be used for work in "emergency" situations. You can draw your own conclusions, however, I think she's a beaut.

It's a Gerber Paraframe. The blade itself is only 3" and made of high carbon stainless. Beats the pants off of the camping knife I bought a few years ago from Wally's.

Nice.
She looks ready for action. Hope she serves you well!
I don't know what the general consensus is, but I like partially serrated blades. If I ever need to go through a rope or seatbelt in a hurry, it's nice knowing I have just the tool.

I carried a paraframe for years & it withstood much abuse. The narrow width makes them ideal for a front pocket carry knife. Never had any issues with the clip on mine.

One issue I've personally seen with the paraframe models of Gerber knives: the screws may back out. I had a buddy have two screws on the frame go missing and after that the knife wasn't particularly useful anymore. Keep an eye on them occasionally, maybe put some loctite on them if you find them coming loose.

My progression of what I've carried every day since 7th grade  I think the Paraframe will start getting all the travel love thanks to TSA lightening up. I always feel naked without a knife on me.
