Time to make some new scales!
I have a couple 3/8" Dubl Duck razors in need of scales, one I got without them, the other has cell rot. Naturally, I didn't make any that short in the big box of them out in the garage, so tonight I cut some 1/8" stock to work with: Teak, Iroko, Bradford Pear (face and quarter sawn with some figure), bloodwood, and maple for a wedge on the dark woods. Have some bloodwood already cut for use with the pear.
Should be a busy weekend getting these cut out (smaller and shorter than the standard ones for 5/8 and 6/8 razors) and finishing them. Probably use tung oil wiping varnish, it's easier.
Have a few other razors that need new scales as well, will have to clean up the beekeeping stuff so I can get to my bench.
Pics when I get them cut out.
