Got three more for my collection this week from family members.
First is a 1960 Fat Boy (F-1) that my MIL found all boxed up,along with a Trac II handle from 1980 (A-1). It belonged to my FIL and is the birth year of my wife. She remembers using it when she first started shaving her legs as a teen. Pretty decent shape, some pitting on the guard but mechanically it works perfectly. I've used it twice, the first time set on 5. It definitely felt different than the other SS's I've used. Used it again today but set it at 2 and thought it felt even more aggresive than 5. After examining it I realized I forgot to tighten it down after taking the blade out to show a couple people! Luckily I only had one minor little nick. Lesson learned.
Second up is a 1969 (O-1) black handled SS given to me by my brother in law. His brother died a few years ago and he found this in a case with a bunch of other knicknacks he had on display in his condo. It had a penguin with shaving cream on it's face glued to it. He has no idea what the history behind it is or why someone glued the penguin on. After some careful work with a heat gun the razor was successfully removed from the penguins butt. I have no way of knowing for sure but the razor doesn't look like it was ever used.
And the third one was given to me by my brother. He's had it for years and had forgotten about it until I started collecting these things. It was given to him by our great aunt probably 20 year or so ago. It's a small, 3 piece travel razor in a case. The only markings on the case are "D.R.G.M." and "made in Germany". There is also some kind of symbol stamed on it. It has a blade in it that also says "Germany" . Apparently D.R.G.M. is a type of copyright or trademark from Germany and not an actual company. Any help identifying this piece would be appreciated.
