My Experience as a Wet Shaver
I started DE shaving off and on since 2004 when I received a Merkur Futur for Christmas. I did bring my Futur with my when I deloyed to Afghanistan for 10 months from 2009 to 2010. I really didn't get into brushes, soaps, and creams until May 2011 when I joined B&B. I haven't used any pre-shave product since 2005 when I started slicing my face with a Futur and Feather combo when I used AoS Lemon Pre-Shave Oil.
My Thoughts
The bottle is one ounce in size. I used two full pumps each time to get enough product to cover my face. I believe that I used it four to six times, maybe more. The bottle was full when I received it. You can tell the amount that was used by looking at the picture.
I received the pre-shave oil in the Queen Charlotte scent. It's not an unpleasant scent, just not one that I would have picked.
What I liked about this product is that it's light and not heavy or greasy feeling like AoS pre-shave oil. It's less thick than a moisturizer or aftershave balm so it's pretty easy to spread evenly on your face. The scent is strong enough that I could smell it as I was applying it.
It was a bit hard for me to tell if my face was slicker during the shave because of the product. Recently, I haven't had a problem with dry or thin lather or needing more protection during my shaves. Afterwards, I did notice that my face wasn't dry at all but that usually doesn't happen because my skin is so oily.
For me, I, personally, would use this only on days that my skin was dry. I think that it might even work as an aftershave product.
Verdict
I think this is a good product. It's light and not heavy or greasy like AoS pre-shave oil. With the drier winter here in Atlanta, it may help keep my face from being getting dry. I liked it so much that I ordered some in the new QCS coconut scent.
I'm sending this off to a fellow B&B member to try to get his thoughts on the product.
