New Omega Pro 38

Just got my pro 48 a couple of says ago (pic pending), and used it the last two days, yesterday with Colonal Conk Almond soap and today with AoS sandalwood soap. Both sessions were great. This morning, I only did a single pass, but for fun I lathered rinsed and relathered several times to see how far I would get. I got 10 passes worth, the first six of with were very thick, and the rest were very respectable. You read right: 10... one zero! Pretty good for a pig, eh? Could have easily got a couple of more thin ones out as well, but I was getting board of lathering and rinsing my face.

There was a bit of that stanky thing, bit nothing significant, and it is rapidly disappearing. I boought this for bowl lathering, but it works great on the face too. It is stiff, but lots of loft and it's a very comfy sensation when massaging the lather into the beard.

This thing just towers over my other brushes, and it is one fat knot.

I've always been intrigued by the omega 49 I think, the one with the longer handle I think it's black. Anybody got pics of that?

I can't seem to find that brush model...would you mind linking to where you bought it? Just ordered a replacement handle for my Pro 49, but would really love the silver ring...

No, it's the 98, the 10098 to be specific. It is my favorite brush.

And the one you are asking about, the 49, is actually what the OP posted. There is no 38. The 10049 comes with white, red, black or silver handle, like his.

Omega is the only boar brush I'd buy now. I love them with the Italian soaps, and despite the cheap handles, I like the much more than Semogues.

If Omega made wooden handles instead of just plastic, I think they could put Semogue out of business.

I thought the chrome handled one had a black ring around it....might just be weirdness in the pictures.

Ahhhh, thanx...I thought that was a wooden handle. That is was a shaving brush should look like IMO. Is that as soft as my 1305? How long U had yours?

Sorry about the typo! Changed it to 48.

I was between this and the 49, but the 48 seemed like the original precurser for the line, so I went with it. I think it may be my favorite go to brush now, although there are some close competitors in my rotation.

Ahhhh, thanx...I thought that was a wooden handle. That is was a shaving brush should look like IMO. Is that as soft as myrtle 1305? How long U had yours?

I've had it about 4 months I guess. I traded an SOC for it so it was used a few times before it came to me. I just love it!
