Hi everybody

I started my wet shaving adventure today .I went for the Cobra Classic .For the first shave I tried to be careful and it kind of worked out quite well though i did stab myself a few times. The CC bites .The CC is a nice razor though I am trying to figure out a solution for the grip of the razor which is a tad short and slippery.I am using the Guards for now .I had a couple of things that I was hoping to hear from you. What is the best way to shave the neck ? Which are the best directions to get the best results?

I also got some of the Geo F. Trumper products but I am also trying to figure out the difference between the Skin Food and the after shave. Do I need to use both ?

Thank you all

Welcome to B&B !

I've been using the Cobra Classic daily for more than a year, and solved the slippery grip problem by keeping a dry washcloth by the sink to wipe my hand on before picking up the razor.

Yes, the CC can bite, but, after a while, you will become used to keeping the pressure switch pointed to "very gentle". :001_smile

When shaving my neck, I make the first pass with the grain. The second pass, I go VERY GENTLY against the grain.

Regarding the difference between skin food and after shave, you don't have to use both, but many folks do.

Again, welcome to B&B - enjoy your shaving experiences.

Good luck and enjoy!

Welcome to B&B, some good products you got there and from what you say your shave went really well, have fun and enjoy the forum:thumbup1:

Welcome! Yep, as far as a slippery handles, use a hand towel to dry your hands and the handle of the razor. Should take care of that!

Thank you all ,this place is GREAT!

Has anyone figured out a holder or case for the Cobra Classic? It would very handy to have one but I didn't really feel like paying 35$ for the leather holder from classicshaving. For what the razor costs and since they didn't even bother shipping it with any kind of boxing (it just comes wrapped in paper, which I find it funny for what you pay) they should have included that leather holder.

Anyway,if anyone has figured out a good solution please let me know

the shave with the Cobra is going well with a couple of things .First of all I getting irritation on the neck ,quite a bit actually.Any idea why ? I am not sure the GFT skin food is going to do it for me .Any suggestions on complementing it with something else that sort of smells alike but is a better moisturizer? Or should I just drop the skin food completely and try something else? I do like the smell of the GFT limes so I would like to stay on the same nature of smell.
