Found this the other day, I believe its a new deluxe model. Wonder how it shaves?

You are correct, the razor is a New DeLuxe model. The New DeLuxe had the characteristic flat bottom on the comb plate. The specific model names of the sets, depended upon how the razor was packaged. These were the high end of the "New Gillette" line.

Some folks feel that these are the best shaving Gillettes of them all.

That's a very nice razor and will give you one of the best shaves you ever had. It's #1 by a few of us here. Congrats on the find. While not super rare there aren't too many around. It was made for only a short time.
