Need your help !

hi all

I have order an UFO handle and now I'm not sure it will works with a slant merkur head
If someone here have a slant merkur head it would be cool if he can try the head with a handle like muhle or EJ89 or any head that fit in an UFO handle

thanks a lot

Why did you order a handle that you are not sure will fit your razor head?

The UFO will fit the EJ89 and Kaiser/UFO will fit the Slant 39c by Merkur

in fact I don't know really, I fall in love with this handle ... if it fit the 39C I hope it will be ok for this old head too

thanks

39c is a two piece how are you gonna make a ufo fit that?

Sam did it here

If you have a Merkur Slant head from an old travel set, or from a set where the handle came off the bottom plate and top plate like a three piece Tech, then you're good.

UFO said he uses the metric thread pitch like Bob did.
I have a Merkur slant from an old metal travel set that had a two piece handle. It fits every handle I've tried it on.

The picture above isn't really practical. I don't know if that was a joke or from a broken two piece, but if the bottom plate stays on your handle when you open your razor you can't really use different handles with it without breaking it.

Looking closer at that picture, it looks like the UFO handle must be tapped very deep.

The slant on it is from a two piece that the tubed handle must have come detached from.

Some slants like Lunawerk have three pieces like Techs.

Sorry for making the redonculous comment, it was late and I was seeing fuzzy.

It's OK, I always do research and I don't just guess at what i give info on..But i do make mistakes and I prefer to be corrected so we can keep on learning. ( I always see fuzzy even if it's early:eek2::a30: Here is Sam's thread http://badgerandblade.com/vb/showthread.php/306184-Slant-Handle-Options
