Need to find Metric Nylon hex/cap nuts

While this request may not seem shave related, I assure you it is. I don't want to divulge the nature of the project until I can photo document it and post the complete project.

What I need are a couple metric nylon nuts. I'm looking to get a hex nut and a cap nut if possible, because I'm not sure which one will work better for my application.

The sizes I need are M12-1.75 and M14-2.00. I have searched online and can only find the M12 and only in boxes of 100. I only need 1-2 of each. If anybody knows a good site where I can buy said nuts in small quantities, let me know. Or if anyone has access to some, I will gladly do a small trade with you. Thanks.

It is basically made of plastic instead of metal. Nylon is not rigid and has a little give to it. There is a ring of nylon in a standard lock nut.

check mcmastercarr :) threw up the link up there. i see some that are minimum orders of 10, but thats better than 100!

i do see the m12-1.75 but nothing higher than that. still a nice reference to materials though

I know that you want nylon, but any chance that brass would work for the prototyping? make one? file the sides the drill a hole and tap it out. anyone you know with a 3d printer?

Brass won't work. And buying the taps I need would still cost more than buying the nuts in quantity. That's a great idea though.

I used to work in purchasing at a large plant. Try Maryland Metrics or perhaps Fastenal. Be advised that just because it may not be listed on a website or in their catalog does not mean it is not available. Perhaps if you told us or the vendor the application an alternative could be sourced?
