need some info

My wifes grandmother bought me some razors while antiquing, I know nothing about straight razors, she gave me a slender greenish blue box labeled G.D. ARBAMS & SON SUPER WEDGE. The razor inside is a Torrey co. with a yellowed plastic handle. I know the razor doesn't match the box, but are either considered worthy?

A Torrey is usually quite good.

Do you have any pictures?

not yet, the razors pretty rough looking, I knocked the rust off of it with a dremmel wire brush but there's some pitting. The blade is really sharp though, no rust on the edge.

GD Abrams is an awesome brand. But the razor is a Torrey in a GD box.

Torreys are also awesome. I like both for different reasons.

Sorry, I had to bump this. I posted this pic and it fell off the main page(see above post). I'm not a straight shaver yet, just curious about the razor.

Interesting that no one responded. It looks like a nasty crack in the heel of the razor. And if not a crack, some ridiculously bad pitting that makes the razor worthless as a shaver.

That's what I was afraid of, it doesn't appear to be cracked, just badly pitted. Oh well, maybe it'll make a nice potato peeler.:wink2:
