Need Some Help in Razor ID'ing

Hi Guys

This just arrived and I'm having some trouble putting a brand/name to this razor. Firstly, it appears to be a Frankenrazor made up out of 2 razors. There's 2 head pieces of what looks to be a Gillette clone of some sort. Plating is worn off both parts and there are no markings at all. The other 2 parts go together nicely because of a large centre hole in the comb part of the head which the handle fits into. Now they are in pretty good shape and the reason I got this concoction was for the handle which I'd never seen before. I looked for it but couldn't see anything close. Maybe it's an Ever Ready of some sort but I doubt it. Any help as to what it is or where I could find the head cap would be greatly appreciated.

The previous owner had all 4 parts put together for the first double open/closed comb razor I'd ever seen which was amusing to consider (last photo).

Haven't a clue, sure reminds me of the Merkur Head design though....

Looks like the original cap went missing and was replaced by a new base plate with matching cap, but the poor guy never had the heart to get rid of the original base plate and decided to just keep using it.

I think you have hit it with the 2 razor parts.

Dang... I know I've seen that handle with the "E" in the red diamond before... Gonna have go do some digging if someone else doesn't beat me to it.

Its a Karl Engels handle and base plate more to the point its the one you outbid me on but was glad at the time as i noticed the top plate was odd as it should be stamped on it by the studs..

Will the razor close down tight if you take the comb base plate out if so it should be usable as it is..

You could double blade it with 2 base plates haha

It's always nice to know what you're shaving with...and speaking of shaving, I remembered I'd won 2 Adams razors so I thought "Lets try the Adams cap on the Engels base plate and handle". Well that's what I did and using a Super Iridium with a few tours on it (didn't really know what I was dealing with) I gave myself an excellent 2 pass w/touchup shave. Hoowah! Besides I think it looks pretty good in its new form and I still have a complete Adams to use as well. Yay
