Bought this with a box of double and single edge razors this morning, no maker name, just stamped made in USA, stamped metal head, 3 piece

The first photo is of a Viet Nam era "disposable" double edge razor, issued to some US Military units. I believe some of them were made by Gillette. It seems that I recall seeing the Gillette diamond on one of those boxes they came in while on duty in the 80's.

It just seems like Gillette would not make such a low quality looking razor. It could have been contracted out though. What is the function of the little hole on the cap?

What is the function of the little hole on the cap?

The threaded screw to hold the handle is basically pop-riveted in. That hole is the backside of the rivet.

Might have to hang on to it then might be a nice little conversation piece if nothing else
