Nanny's anyone?

Nanny's Silly Soaps.. anyone here try them? I just used the Vanilla soft soap, a very different sort of shaving scent... something you might find yourself wanting to eat rather than shave with, but I have to say I just had an outstandingly good shave. Usually I have to reach for the moisturizer after a shave, but my skin feel soft, smooth and not in the slightest bit dry. Scent wise I do find some of her soaps a bit on the strange side, not un-pleasant, but hard to distinguish and the slightest sort of rubbery smell to them, but this doesn't include the vanilla.. no doubting that. For some reason, the <enter> key isn't giving me a new line here... so, sorry about the rather long paragraph.

I have a pot of 'Down Home Summer'. I like it. I think the scent is said to be a mix of vetiver and lavender oils which I find pleasant. My only criticism would be that the blue pot the 100g soap comes in isn't the easiest to load from. Fortunately the soap is soft enough that I can scoop some out from the tub, rub it on my face and then take a brush to it.

Yes I agree, the soft soaps come in very small jars, not the best for building a lather but a good lathering soap nonetheless. The olive oil soaps come in a wider shallower tin which is a bit better and then the hard soaps come in pucks or bars, I can't remember exactly, I pressed mine into a bowl. Was very impressed with the vanilla this evening, possibly one of the best shaves I've had in a while... skin feels great.

After seeing and asking about a couple of photos with Nanny's in the SOTD forum, I was inspired to buy a couple of tins myself. I have the Cedarwood&Bergamot soft soap, which has an absolutely incredible scent when you whip it up; and the Patchouli olive soap, which I don't really like the scent of - I chose that one as the scent is described on the site as "inexplicable".

In terms of performance, I'm not great at lathering soaps yet and I have only used them once each, but the soft soap definitely has a bigger lathering sweet spot than the olive oil soap. My main issue with both was that they didn't provide as much cushion as I would like, they were both beautifully slick though. I get the feeling they will both give better as I get used to them, and I certainly hope so as I didn't notice they had a vanilla scent - I LOVE vanilla!
