Nandita Sandal (Sandalwood) Oil

It's not an EO scent, it's artificial, but it's the best dang artificial sandalwood I've ever encountered. It actually smells like sandalwood. And at less than $10, it puts so many expensive offerings to shame.

And it lasts 24 hours+. Tam Dao is great, but if you can't afford it, Nandita is better than 4 or 5 other "sandalwood" fragrances put together.

I can't help but highly recommend it.

I'm a huge fan of sandalwood and have experience with genuine Santalum album oil. This is a terrific interpretation and I'm really impressed.

Available on eBay (or several other places) for $10 or less.

OK, I'm definitely interested, but I'd like to at least sniff before I buy. Anyone know where there's a B&M store where you can test this out/buy it? I'm in NC, so I'm looking for someplace kinda local.

I saw it on ebay for about $9 shipped and based on what I've read if you like sandalwood, it's easily worth that, so, personally, I'll probably just buy some.

BTW: Anyone familiar with Nandita's other offerings?

Since it's an incense oil, maybe an incense store?

The last time I checked, IncenseGuru no longer had it in stock. I got mine earlier this year from the Hare Krishna store (linked above). They're good to deal with...you're not put on any mailing or call list, but they ship UPS so it ends up being about $16 shipped.

Guys check out a local indian store. they may carry it or get it shipped and the price maybe a lot more affordable.

i've seen it for 2.99 or less in the stores here in nyc.

Some of you are going to think I'm absolutely nuts.

I've been wearing this daily for the past week, and each time I put it on and as it wears throughout the day, I am constantly reminded of a wonderful frag I knew from a sample that this closely mimics. For some reason, I couldn't think of the name for the life of me.

Then it hit me: Floris Sandalwood.

For those that have used both, am I completely off-base here and maybe a little crazy? I swear this is what it reminded me of, both in scent and character (it stays close to the skin). Sadly, I don't have any more of the Floris, so I can't do a side-by-side.

Nope you are not nuts. To me they smell very similar. It also smells very close to the QED BB special run of sandalwood soap.

Quoted for truth. I just received my vial from Tom's Incense (through eBay), and I agree on all points. I purchased a decant of Floris Sandalwood a few years back from a B&B member (Scotto, perhaps?), and I have to say... this Nandita is as close as it gets. It's strikingly similar, IMHO. Same limited sillage, same pure single-note dry sandalwood. I am incredibly happy with it. While I'd still purchase a bottle of Floris Sandalwood if ever it returned to production, I feel Nandita Sandalwood gets the job done just as well.
