Nancy Boy technique??

I was re-reading some reviews and saw several mentions of using this cream "brushless". Has anyone been doing that? I looked at the directions (something I never do) and it says, "wet face, apply a thin layer of cream, and shave....).
I've always simply used it like all my creams...swirling my wet brush in the tub, then building lather in a bowl. Now I'm wondering about simply smearing it on. Seems doing that for 3-4 passes would really burn some cream....perhaps that's their idea. ;)

Keep in mind that when they're describing how to use their cream, they're not thinking that you'll be doing 3-4 passes, probably just one with a Mach 3 or something.

I've used it brushless and find it too thick...I actually prefer the way it behaves with a brush and a little water, plus it allows you to use less.

I've used it both ways with good success but when using a brush did not use a bowl. Also smearing a bit right on your wet face, then hitting it with the brush works nicely

I like it better using a brush, but it can be used brushless as well, just as any other shaving cream can be. Their "idea" for it being used without a brush stems from the fact that Nancy Boy's founders never used brushes when they designed this cream; it's a happy accident the ingredients they settled on actually lather and thus allow for use with a brush. I agree, though - using it brushless for multiple passes probably would eat up quite a bit of cream.
