Any Idea what this is? No markings of any kind. Teeth are diagonal to the head.
It's a nice looking razor, with good heft. After a little clean up I'm going to give it a try.

Can't help with IDing. Sorry.

But nice score! That's one I haven't seen and it looks in great shape. Hope you'll give it a spin and let us know how it shaves. Wonder if the angled teeth would make much difference.

Did normal Prep which is a 10-15 Minute hot shower using common Dove Bar Soap.
Why Dove? Because that is what SWMBO buys.

Bowl lather with TOBS Lavender Shave Soap and Pure Badger Brush by Conk, and a US made Personna Platinum Chrome.

I chose the Personna because it has been for me a very reliable blade. Though not as sharp as some, it has performed well for me in a variety of razors. Some of the other blades I use (Russian Gillettes or German Wilkinson Classics) seem to do better in one razor type or another, but the Personnas do an adequate job regardless of which razor I put them in.

I normally do WTG and XTG on my cheek, chin and upper lip, and then additional ATG on my jaw line and neck. The spiral growth pattern on the neck requires the extra passes, and then some Blade Buffing on the jaw line and neck.

During loading of the blade, and opening for cleaning, the scalloped sides presented some difficulty as the ends of the blade extend well past the ends of the razor. This means that loosening or tightening the head requires a finger and thumb pinch of the top and base plate while turning the handle. The knurling is deep enough that even with wet soapy hands, I never felt any slipping of the handle, though the weak point here is the strength of your "pinch".

During the initial passes on my face, I used the same side to see if there was a difference if the teeth were pointing toward my ear or my nose. There appeared to be no difference that I could detect.

This razor was really very easy to handle and had a good feel to it. It's low profile head made the shave under the nose area a breeze, something that I can't say for even the lowest profile TTO's.

Though not a BBS shave, it was very passable on the face and I was quite happy with the results. The neck area was another matter entirely.

Because I have to do so many passes on my neck in different directions due to the grain of my hair, I found that my neck was extremely irritated. I believe this to be the result of the open comb as opposed to the closed bar on a Tech or SS, because I feel very similar when I use a NEW, though not to this extent.

Even with the multiple passes I still have stubble each side of the adams apple, and I was just too irritated to do any Buffing to finish it up.

On the plus side, I think it is very forgiving, and though I varied angle just to try, I got no nicks or weepers at all.

Overall, I'd say that this is a nice razor, and would do well for someone who doesn't have a strange growth pattern, or who doesn't have very coarse heavy whiskers. But for me, I will stick with the closed bar razors for my "Normal Shaves".

Nice post, Phil, and excellent description of the "test drive".

I'm afraid I can't help with the id of the razor.

But another interesting observation, and I'm curious if anyone else notices this. In the first picture, with the angle straight on from the side, it's obvious the curve of both of the two parts of the head have a nice even arc. But in the second picture from a different angle, it looks like the top of the head isn't a regular arc, but rather drops down in the middle. That's because of the curving line in the edges of the two parts of the head as can be seen in the other pics. All of this makes it easier to understand how the camera angle can innocently cause the question that has been debated so strongly in other threads over whether or not a certain razor was a slant type.

Again, nice post, thanks for sharing, and I hope someone can help identify this interesting looking razor.

Might be an off-brand or foreign Gillette of some sort. It may be fairly old since the craftsmanship is quite nice.
