Wow, you've apparently had some bad luck with scents.
I've only encountered one* that I was disappointed with...and it's not terrible, just "meh" when compared to many modern soaps.

Actually No! I own 440 shaving soaps up from 400 a few months ago lol Anyway I love a lot and like the rest. I think it is actually only ten I dont like.

I have 8 more Declaration Grooming soaps which I do like!
Ahhh...well, I guess 10 out of 440 is actually a small percentage of "stinkers".

This thread is worthless without descriptions of the scents. Better yet, contrast your descriptions with the descriptions the companies use on their websites.
I thought this was a fun video and more or less on topic. Maybe someone else will enjoy it as I did.

I had to toss a tub of B&M Petrichor. Nothing like the smell of musty wet dirt first thing in the morning.

No! I will tell you what I smell and dont like. Most spice, cinammon netmeg with tobacco combination. Though I love Moon soaps "Tobacco Flower" and Henri et Victoria "Cognac and Cuban Cigars"

“I have Noble Otter Batters Up sitting in my drawer. I’ve shaved with it only twice because the fragrance is so funky. I twist the lid off occasionally just to see if things have changed…they haven’t. It’s like a leather factory caught on fire and they tried to douse the flames with tar, then took that smouldering chemical mess and put it in a soap. I can’t seem to part with it though.”

For me, Texas on Fire. And (a cream) French Vetiver (forget the brand). Both of them smell like smoke, which for a shave is a hard no from me.
+1 on Texas on Fire. I received a sample in an order of other Stirling soaps and immediately put it in the trash.
@Paulastoria :I’m just curious what you don’t like about DG Massacre of The Innocents? The reason I enquire is you say you love Moon Tobacco Flower & Henri et Victoria Cognac & Cuban Cigars. All three seem to be in strong in the tobacco family to my nose but then everyone smells something differently.
