What's new

My VDH Boar Brush..

..is one year old. It kills at making great lather with soap in a mug or cream in a bowl. No problemo.

When I first got the thing, it would not do the face lather thing at all. I'd load it with soap and start swirling and it was just like everything died. No, I tried everything, it's not a matter of technique believe me.

So, I thought maybe after a year, I'd try it again. It's better all around now after it's softened up, maybe this would work now.

No.

Same thing.

I loaded it up real good with some VDH soap and.. started swirling.. the first pass was.. passable, but after that.. no go again. I had to go back and finish by re-lathering in my mug.

Oh well. All the more reason to ask for a nice badger brush for my 40th birthday (coming up soon).. :scared:

I used mine for face-lathering this morning. Worked like a champ. Only problem with mine is after three months of solid use it is still shedding hair nearly as fast as I am. :wheelchair:

I too have also had my VDH for over a year now, although I find no problem face lathering.

Is you face wet enough before lathering? Are you using soaps or creams, and are you using enough? Do you add water as you're face lathering?

Just wondering as I find face lathering much simplier than the mug route.

my vdh brush doesn't shed to bad but i have to go easy on it from time to time i notice hairs but other than that it has been/is a good brush

I Have had my VDH for about four months and it works great to face lather or in a bowl. Before this one i had another VDH that had a twist in the knot and it shed like crazy. When i purchased the one im currently using I opened all the boxes and got one without a twist. So far it has not shed very many hairs, its gotten softer and has a nice bloom
