My Time Bath & Body

I just ordered a tub of menthol shaving cram from this website. I asked for 10/10, BTW.

The cream only took two days to get from CA to NC. I also got a cream sample for only a penny.

Great service!

Love the menthol! +1, nothing but great experiences with Mytimebathandbody.

I can't wait until tomorrow morning. Considering the cream smells like Vick's Vapor Rub, I am expecting a freezing cold shave (exactly what I want).

What do you gentlemen think of the smell? I'm not talking about the scent (the intended perfuming of the shaving cream). I was put off a little bit by the underlying odor. Smelled like the tallow was dominating the other scents. I'll be curious to hear your reactions. Maybe I was just hypersensitive to that one odor.

Which cream did you get? My menthol cream smells like nothing but Vick's Vapor Rub. In fact, my face was too cold to even smell anything.

I also got the menthol cream. Maybe I got a bad tub? The menthol smell was overpowered by another, more earthly odor. I would describe it as meat that has been sittling out a little too long (but not quite spoiled). I assumed that it was the lanolin in the cream. It didn't smell rancid, just a bit unusual. Whatever it was, it was unpleasant enough to my nose that I sold away my tub as part of a larger lot.

You must have gotten a REALLY bad tub. Mine smells nothing like tallow, which stinks BTW (my mother uses it for soaps).

If I were you, I'd try and get another.

Hi

I usually stay pretty quiet but thought I would chime in here. Tallow is a main ingredient in my soap. I honestly don't smell it but I also don't think the bucket it comes in has much scent either. Some people are more sensitive to the scent and pick it up. I have read a couple of posts here where that was the case. Because of this I changed the way I make the soap. NOT THE INGREDIENTS!!!!

Usually when you make soap you melt the hard oils, add the liquid oils, then add the lye to the whole lot. Because of this being a cream soap I can add the oils to the soap at intervals. Now I melt the stearic and tallow (the best oils for shave cream) and add the lye. I let it cook like this for about an hour. After an hour all the tallow and stearic have soaponified but I still have a very caustic pan of soap as there is a whole lot of lye left. I then add the castor (super for bubbles) and cook for another hour. Finally I add the rest of the oils (always the cocoa butter last as it is so good for your skin) and cook for at least one more hour. Once all the lye is gone I can add all the other stuff that creates the final product.

I have the first batch that was made with the new process ready to go and would like to send DSB a sample to see if he notices a difference. I don't smell the tallow but never did so I am not a good judge if it is any different. If we are being honest I smell the clay in the shaving cream and think it has a strong earthy odor from that. The most interesting comment I recieved was from a gentleman that thought the unscented cream smelled softly of apples. Don't know where that came from.

A note for anyone wanting the menthol cream. I would help me and get your order shipped faster if you would include a note telling me how strong you want the menthol. A simple "10" or "face freezer" in the comments box would be grately appreciated.

As always don't be afraid to ask if you want something custom.

Happy shaving :shaving:

I ordered two screams from ladyintheroom (Jean) and have been extremely pleased with the service and professionalism she conducts business.

The creams are great, though only one was for me. The recipient of the other cream, who does not use it for shaving, is very, very pleased with her cannabis scented cream.
