What's new

My new Edwin Jagger

Just taken delivery of my new Edwin Jagger D89. Blinkin' flip I'm impressed.:w00t: I had to keep checking that I'd put a blade in it, so smooth was the shave. I didn't need to worry as it left my face as smooth and soft as the proverbial babies bum.

I've been using a Wilkinson Sword Classic safety razor. It's ok, if mostly plastic, but it doesn't hold a candle to my new EJ. There's no way on God's green earth that I am ever going back to using overpriced gimmicky cartridge razors.

Welcome to wet shaving. I myself only started a couple of months ago, and it is awesome. Great online community here also.
i have a couple of EJ89s and they're great. Just the right amount aggressiveness and almost fool proof. Doesn't seem to matter what blade I put in it I still get a great shave without cutting the crap out of my face.
Enjoy.

Welcome to BB Gary.

EJ 89 was my (and, probably, many others here) first modern DE razor.

Lots of love and sentiment, from me, for that razor.

Enjoy.

Gary - What blade are you using in that new Jagger??

I'm currently using generic store branded ones. They're Israeli made and extremely good. When those are finished I've got 100 Astra Platinum's which I picked up for a tenner on ebay.

The EJ and an Astra provide a mighty fine shave. Congrats. That should provide you with years of fine shaving. I have the Muhle R89 which is very similar. While it's not my daily driver any longer, I know I can always go to it for a smooth comfortable shave.

That's the bunny.

I started using a safety razor because I objected to paying the grossly inflated prices for cartridge razors. I kept on using DE razors because I was getting a much closer shave with them.

There's a term I've never heard before! I'm sure it's and English saying that I just don't understand, but it did tickle me quite a bit.

:001_smile Sorry, I keep forgetting this isn't a British site. "That's the bunny" means that's the correct person or thing.
