Have you carved the scales? Like the idea of multi-coloured wedge, it is a wedge right? I now have something else to which I can aspire.

sorry guys the scales are a vintage set that was broken & warped that i repaired and lined. no carving skills involved here other than repairs to existing stuff. the wedge end is a spacer with no wedge shape i have used this type for years with no problems. YMMV of course. thanks 4 your comments guys, tom
