My first Method Shave....

So I got my gear together about a month ago but wanted to try my first method shave when A) I had the time to play, B) I had the right amount of growth, not too long not too short, C) I had nothing in front of me to look good for in case I screwed up. Well the stars aligned today so I gave it a go. Now I know there is a method section that perhaps this might be more appropriate for but I wanted it here because I think everyone should try it.

It was smoother, slicker and had more cushion than anything I've done so far. In fact it was so smooth, slick and cushionie that it likely wasn't as good as I could do because I got so excited and a bit carried away with it. I wasn't paying very close attention and was just hap-hazardly whipping the blade (feathers) along my face. However, even with the less than ideal concentration its the best shave I'd had so far (keep in mind I'm 4.5 months in). My face is more hydrated than it's ever been. I did have a little burn, but that's due to my lack of concentration I promise. My face is smoother than it has ever been. My face is the less sensitive to the touch than it has ever been. The blade just flew across my face...it was so smooth.

Also, and perhaps vets who have tried both might weigh in here.....after applying the "wet mix" (I hate these pseudo science words that he uses), I now realized what I was missing with my soap lather. The cushion I felt after I rubbed in the paste (#2) onto the wet mix was like there was a cloud in between my hands and my face. Can I assume this is what the lather from the soaps/creams is supposed to feel like? If it is, I think it would be a good learning experience for any newbies (like myself) to feel the method mix. Everything felt different, the blade just ran across the face with no problem and I could barely tell the blade was there.

All in all, it was a great experience.

Without knowing exactly what these terms mean....I used his basic Hydrolast Cube (the ones cut into a third) with some of his cutting balm and his activator. I think I had too much water...i'll improve for next time.

No, because as u can see my point wasn't merely how great method is...but that its possible those who don't use method or are struggling with later, like I do, might benefit from feeling the mix. That is why I didn't put it in the method section...as pointed out in the original post
