My first DE shave... with a classic Gillette

Thanks to Pike, I became the proud owner of a Gillette New in beautiful condition. It arrived yesterday

After careful deliberation on what I should use to inaugurate it, I decided on Tabac + KMF unscented superlather, using my Rooney 3/1 Super, and my blade of choice, Astras.

Three passes plus touchup.

I'm in love This is what a BBS should be. A few weepers - this was my first time with an open comb - but nothing that couldn't be dispatched with some Dickinson's Witch Hazel.

Great story.

I found Open Comb razors to be weeper machines, but one day it just "clicked" and after that it's been nothing but great shaves.

Looks like your learning curve will be flatter than mine!
