I made my first convert to DE shaving this month. One of my co-workers was complaining about irritation while shaving, and we got into a brief conversation about my return to classic lather and brush DE shaving. Long story short, I gifted him with a razor blade sampler and an old brush, and we have another who is now wise to the ways!

Congrats! I'm working on converting my Dad and as of today I was talking to a coworker as well about getting started.
I got into a convo about collecting old razors with a co-worker and he told me about one that he had found in a place he just moved into and kept it because it was old and he thought it was cool. It turned out to be a GEM 1912 and not having had the privileged of using a SE I offered to trade him a 1949 gold aristocrat that had allot of plating loss but was great user grade. Well he accepted and got interested in the idea of actually using it and not just keeping it around for the cool factor. I gave him my old VDH boar brush and bowl set and some croap samples and some derby and astra sp blades. He had not done a proper shave in a long time, maybe 5 years. He would use his trimmer to get it short but not shave because of the irritation and inconvienience. Well I am happy to say he has already shaved twice and has been very happy with the results.

Yes, he invested in an Edwin Jagger DE89L on my recommendation and is easing into it.
