What's new

My DE

So this is how it starts......

when I went to shave yesterday I noted that my brush was damp and just put this down to the steam in the shower room then before I got in the shower I could not find my SS,
So I put a new blade in my futur had my shower knocked up a lather had a great shave, Then in tidying up (you know before the wife checks out the sink to find hair all over the place) I came across my SS which had little bits of hair stuck in it,

Well thats unlike me not clean after use but maybe at 38 the grey cells are already shot?

Then today the wife calls up to me and asks "please honey"... would you run me a bath, Okay I shout down, So bath run and off she goes and I'm left down stairs with our girls who have a week off and have to go over their school work as they have Exams in two weeks and the older one shows me a miss print in her math book too which I take it upstairs where the wife is in the bath to show her and nearly pass out why you may ask.......?

SHE HAS MY SS, MY BRUSH, AND MY SOAP!!!!! and is happily shaving her legs and under arms, And all she can say for herself is well your always going on about how great it is I thought I would give it a go for myself.....
"It is good now I see why you like honey"....

So should I be miffed or happy?

Be very, very happy.

Be encouraging. Suggest that you both pick out some nice Trumpers Rose soap, or TOBS Lavender for "her" to try.

Nothing in the world abets product aquisition like having SWMBO on board.

Awesome! +1 on the above. Just teach her how to maintain them too :001_smile

My wife tried a Lady Eversharp yesterday and loved it, my daughter will try next. No more cartridge junk in our house!

I did see a couple of very nice Lady Gillette razors in the BST forum. They would make great gifts! They tend to go quick though but keep an eye out :001_smile

Be happy, but get her her own gear ASAP. I can't stand the thought of someone handling my equipment in a manner not as lovingly as mine. I take nearly 10 minutes to clean up after a shave because I obsess over the condition of all of my stuff.

Be happy... be very, very happy. You've taught her well Jedi. And yes, a lady Gillette would be a great gift for her. It's amazing to see other people (our better half's) see why DE shaving is the better way.

Hee hee. I've been trying to get SWMBO to try any of my stuff.
she just won't. I'd be happy because now you can slip a thing or two past her into the den.

Sounds like a good case for the Lady Gillette.

+1
I've tried to talk my wife into shaving with a DE, but she won't hear of it. She learned to shave with her grandfather's DE(both her parents died when she was 6) and used to cut herself with it. I've tried to explain the differences in agressiveness of different razors/blades, but all she hears is "blah, blah, blah".

I've cleaned her razors a few times because I can't stand to see a razor full of soap and hair. Seems most women don't care for their razors the way we do.
My wife doesn't care for kitchen knives the way I do either, and it peeves me to no end. I bought her a Boker ceramic kitchen knife and she dulled it within a month.

I got my wife and my teenage daughter into DE shaving. My wife really liked the shaves I was getting, and liked the idea that blades only cost 15 cents. So I bought her a Weishi, which is mild and safe, and works well for her. She likes it a lot, but was a little apprehensive about trying it at first. Once she tried it, she convinced my daughter...

My daughter shaves almost every time she's in the shower. If her legs aren't like glass, she's afraid to wear anything that shows more than her ankles. She went through disposable razors like crazy (a 10 pack a month!). She also left them in the shower, floating around and rusting, so she couldn't tell which one was the newest/sharpest one. When in doubt, she grabbed a new one. I bought her a Weishi. Hers is gold and since she thinks it's classy, she doesn't leave it in the shower anymore. And at 15 cents a blade, she can shave 3 times a day if she likes.

So I think it's great that you didn't have to actively convert your wife to DE.

No, be afraid! This is not good!

AD times two. Think about it. Mounting bills, running out of cabinet space, duplicate items, it'll be a nightmare.

Then she's going to start wondering about this Badger & Blade place she sees you visiting, she'll create an account, and then you'll be PMing each other to get milk at the store, pick up the dry cleaning, etc.

My how things have changed. I used my Ming Shi to show my wife how good DE shaving could be for her, and she bugged me to no end to buy her a Lady Gillette.
She hasn't touched her Venus, since.:biggrin1:

My SWMBOWIFLI (She who must be obeyed when I feel like it) says that she's not "awake enough" to use a DE when she's shaving her legs.

However, I've at least talked her into using a puck of Honeybee shave soap to lather up, so that's progress, right?

*Edit* post 100!!!
