What's new

My Bodum is dead

14 months of good coffee are too short. :crying: I'll be buying a new one but you as my first french press will always be special.

Thank you for what you've done.

My thoughts are with you. Seriously - there's something about a french press that's just special. In times of takeaway latte and and coffee pads it's a wonderful ritual to physically press your coffee.

off tangent but my ikea french press was also shattered. Now thinking of using the melitta drip. At least less glass to take care of. Wonder if I can find a suitable gold mesh filter for it?

I broke mine a few weeks ago and have yet to replace it. This thread has inspired me to go a buy one today, I will hunt one down in my small town. Might also get a back up. I have broken a few over the years through carelessness.

I have one of the Bodum metal jobs, not the one someone linked above. It has bounced off the kitchen floor several times and is as good as new (unlike the coffee stained floor). Expensive but worth it in the long run!

I believe you should be able to purchase just the glass cup from Bodum and save over buying whole other press. I have had to do this myself...

Ah, a little duct tape and you're good as new.
