MWF/Kent - same soap?

I read somewhere that MWF and Kent actually is the same soap, is this correct?

I would really like to try MWF after reading what you guys think of it, but I can't seem to find it anywhere over here, but Kent I can get in almost any beautyshop.

As above, its the same soap only wearing different clothes, though ingridents label is the same as mwf.

Yes, they are both the same. So no matter which you buy, you will be in for a great shave and a fine soap that will definitely earn a high place in your rotation.

Happy shaving,

Doug

one in the same. There is a thread in the shopping and discount forum for a really cheap place to get MWF shipped.

They are the same. The only difference seems to be the containers that you can purchase to hold the soap. If you aren't interested in one, it won't matter whether you get the Kent or MWF. If you are, the ceramic MWF bowl is almost universally preferred.

The Bluebeard's Revenge shave soap sold by The Shaving Shack is also the same soap as Kent/MWF, but with a different package:

But that package looks like the package of something toxic!

Maybe MWF sells them bulk unwrapped pucks at less than they wholesale their packaged pucks for... probably under an agreement that they don't disclose that it's MWF... and they take that agreement a little less than seriously. So they sell the product just a hair cheaper than MWF but at a higher margin for themselves, and make sure to indicate it's the same stuff so that buyers looking for the best price are sure to order their (higher margin) cheaper product

Just a guess.

Bought the Kent version today, and it better be good, and last for a lifetime!
Cost me $82!! with wood bowl, that's the same I would pay for four bowls of Tabac.
I really hope it lives up to my expectations!

$82??? Wingham Wool Works has the refill puck for $11 shipped to the US, and the one with the ceramic bowl is only ~$25, I think.

I live in an expensive country, but that's a bit over the top, even here.

Anyway, I just finished my first shave with it, it didn't give me the wow feeling, maybe I didn't get a good enough lather, maybe I just have to use it some more to really appreciate it?

But it gave my a good shave, not drying out my skin like i.e. C&E does, and I really like the scent.

Does it need a litte extra effort to make a good lather of it, or is that just me?

You really have to load your brush with this one ...But I know what you mean.

I have the soap as well and I dont get as much enjoyment as everyone else does from it. it's good, but doesnt deserve the hype. Just my opinion.
