Music to Shave by

Normally i do not have any music on whilst shaving, but last week i was away from home on a residential course and found myself having relaxed pampering shaves in the evenings while listening to music on my laptop.

Classical music gave me the best shave, whilst listening to 'Rage against the machine' led to a little bloodloss:001_huh:

I don't think it was just the rhythm, but it really made me think of how much I rely on the 'sound' of the razor passing over my skin to judge whether i am doing a good job or not.

Does anyone else shave to music? and if so, what do you recommend?

What else?

I usually have some sort of "classic rock" or some nice old blues like Leadbelly or Muddy Waters. Robert Johnson is good too.

I have Pandora on every morning. Everything from "AC/DC" to "Ice Cube" to "Phoenix." It all just depends upon my mood.

The mornings where I don't have music everything just feels weird.

I'd suggest jazz... I've been on a Melody Gardot kick lately. Can't bring myself to buy her album though so its a crap shoot on Pandora usually.

I normally shave early in the morning and try not to make too much noise at all, but last Sunday I had the place to myself and had a fantastic shave listening to Tom Waits nice and loud!

Usually what's on the radio... I like 70s-80s-90s music.

I had Billy Idol the other morning, it was great!

Hmm... i take it you are trying to put the 'wammy' on fate with that selection?:wink2:

'Rage against the machine'

+1 one of my favorites...too bad they broke up

Listening to them when you shave though is like filling a cup with scalding hot coffee, hopping in a formula one car, and trying not to burn the &*$% out of yourself while flying around the track at 200 mph.

Probably sounds pretty strange...But I like to listen to classical music while I am shaving...I normally don't really listen to classical at all (I am a rock/metal type of person) but it just sets up the whole atmosphere of shaving the old fashioned way in my opinion.

There's that straight razor scene in Reservoir Dogs where "Stuck in the middle with you" by Stealers Wheel is playing. For some reason this thread makes me think of that. :confused1

do it. "my one and only thrill" is a fantastic album with zero duds. every song is a winner. melody gardot is a tremendous new talent
