I just saw a photo of a Mundial DE. $9. I have a Mundial chef's knive and I love it. Anyone know what the Mundial made of? The handle looks like steel.
These are "generic" made in China cheap razors sold here in Brazil by Mundial for about US$ 2.
They are very lightweight, have a bad finish, blade not always well aligned. In my opinion it has moderate aggressiveness.
It was my first safety razor. If you have patience and load it with a forgiving blade it can deliver you a decent shave (as almost any other safety razor can do).
Okay, nuff said. I am happy with my Weber and my iKon. I do really like my 10" chef knife and was curious what their razor was like. I don't think I need to own one.
I just received an order that included a few of these. My expectations were low, but the handles looked OK in the picture. However, they're shorter than I expected -- they're only 2-3/4 inches long, which is about 1/4 inch shorter than a Piccolo razor handle. They're fairly heavy for their size, and other than being about 1/2 to 3/4 of an inch shorter than I thought they'd be, they're a pretty good bulldog-style handle. I believe they're plated brass, though I can't swear to it.
The heads, as others have said, are absolute rubbish. Each cap and base plate together weighs as much as a quarter and the caps do not have blade alignment tabs -- they went straight into my garbage.
In addition to those razors, I ordered 5 bulk packs of (Egyptian made) Lord Silver Star DE blades that were priced at $5/100 and a 200 pack of Lord Racer DE blades for $8. I've read good reviews of both, and the prices were low enough to help offset shipping. Also, a free Treet Starline TTO razor with 5 Treet Platinum blades was included my order.
Overall, though I'm not sure I'll use the Mundial handles, but they're worth holding onto and I'm satisfied with my order.

I just found that the Mundial handles aren't very useful either -- the Mundial cap's screw was about half the length of most head's screws. I didn't think much about it, but I had a Yaqi cobbed head that I thought I'd try on a short Mundial handle, and I found that the handle was only threaded as deep as the thread on the head it came with. I don't think they're worth buying a 5.0mm tap for, and I'm not going to cut my other cap screws, or use washers to shim the difference, so the handles will probably not be usable either -- live and learn.
