Most Underrated Brush Manufacturer?

I got home from work early today, and decided to shave with some neglected products and items.

Ended up going with my black beauty, some mama bear sandalwood vanilla, and my kimson brush.

The shave was excellent, but the true standout was my brush. It is such a magnificent piece of work. And it got me thinking...

Who is the most underrated brush manufacturer?

I feel like Kimson is definitely up there. Aside from the location (Vietnam), confusing website, and horrific waiting time to get your brush (a month or more), they produce one of the most luxurious brushes I've encountered. By any other name, it would be a $200 brush (or more), yet I paid something like $70 total. Natural horn handcrafted handle, huge knot (I bought a 24mm, but I swear it's closer to 26), super soft, and I have only lost 5 hairs total.

Send some love to Kimson, and throw out some more underrated brush manufacturers.

(I'm not affiliated with, or compensated by, Kimson in any way. Just really like my brush, that's all.)

Omega. They deliver excellent boar brushes in particular, but don't receive nearly the love that they deserve.

Mason Pearson. I have used mine everyday for 20 years and it's wonderfully soft and great backbone. Very well made.

The same brush every day for 20 years? Wow... that has to take some beating! Now I'm curious as to what the record is. :001_smile

Parker. I have a Parker Silvertip and Parker Synthetic, which I both love. Let's also put in Semogue as underrated. Their boar brushes are fantastic!

I used a nylon brush every day for about 40 years (same razor and mug too).

Still have all of them but I don't use the brush or mug very much anymore. I grew up and found other brushes. Don't know why I don't use the mug any more though. I should. It is a nice mug. I still use the super adjustable in my rotation.

I don't think Semogue can be considered underrated. They get plenty of positive attention here and on other forums.

Omega
Very good quality brushes at very reasonable prices..great for beginners or just for people who don't want to spend obscene amounts of money on a brush.
I love both my $45 silvertip and $7 boar.

I can't recommend them enough when I see a noob asking what brush they should buy and there's tons of posts telling them to spend $60-70+ on a first-timer brush.

I've never thought of Omega as underrated, but rather a smart choice. Everyone has one, and everyone who has one loves it. I have 2 Omega boars and they're champs!

And you know what the funny thing is, I have only recently started taking care of my Mason Pearson (Pure Badger) since I got on to B&B. I would normally rinse it in hot water and l leave it on the window ledge. It just keeps going on and after so many years of use it almost feels like the brush knows my face and it still blooms beautifully.

I think this Parker for $29 from Amazon is the best value in a brush I have ever seen. I had the Tweezerman, and for the price, it's a value. But this is really a terrific brush, equal to any two-band I've yet tried and the price point is pretty low.

You can get cheaper brushes, to be sure. You can find better brushes, to be sure. But I submit you cannot find a better brush for less money than this. Anywhere.

I'm new to figuring out what brush is for me...but my first was a Parker badger brush that I bought from Amazon for about $35. It really is a good brush.
