Mold on strop what can i do?

I was traveling and when I came back I found my strop full of mold. What is the procedure to remove and eliminate mold? Could any expert help? Thanks.

Tricky...

What I would probably try is to LIGHTLY dampen a cloth with white vinegar and wipe the mould off. But you want to try to not get the strop too wet, obviously.

Tnks guys. I'm thinking of applying Arko cream all over it with a soft brush and then removing it with a slightly damp cloth to give it a general clean. Then I'll apply some antifungal (maybe vinegar) and finally put it in the sun.
It picked up a very strong musty smell.

Between soap, vinegar (perhaps diluted with distilled water?), and exposure to sunlight, I think you may have enough bases covered. I have an old strop that gets lightly covered with mold whenever I leave it idle (which is the case these days). The trick there has been to remove the mold with a lightly moistened rag and use it regularly!

Is the hardware made of brass/bronze/copper? I ask because copper oxide is also green.
No, is steel. The hardware is in perfect condition. I'm sure the greenish color is mold, since it was all over the leather. The problem was that I was traveling for two weeks and the high humidity in the tropical climate led to mold formation.
