Moisturizing shaving soap?

Morning folks. Well, at least here it's morning.

My doctor told me to stop using facial creams for the next couple of weeks due to an upcoming medical skin treatment. So far, so bad - my skin is almost as dry as my humor. [canned laughter]

I am, however, allowed to shave. So, my question: can you recommend a soap that leaves the skin rather moisturized?

Cheers,

Whit

Tabac may be moisturizing but it's got a crapload of fragrance in it...I wonder if something a little less *pungent* might be better for very sensitive skin?

One of the most moisterizing soaps I used is actually a bath soap that also delivers VERY good shaves.
If I use this soap I don't apply anything to my face afterwards.
It's the Meat and potatoes bar from Woody's. (review here)

I shaved this morning for the first time with Woods of Windsor that I acquired last week.
It was a refill and probably from an old batch because the mug-soap combination doesn't contain tallow but my refill does.
I also didn't use anything after the shave and my face feels just great. I wonder if I should contact that shop to get the remaining refills as well.

I tested over the weekend also speick sticks and they left my skin quite moisterized as well.

Institute Karite and Valobra Stick are the most moisturizing soaps I've tried. Tabac is also pretty moisturizing but not quite as much as these two.

+1 on MWF. I also find Pre de Provence, Provene Sante, and AOS sandalwood to leave my skin less dry. Tabac didn't work for me as it dried my face out. As always YMMV. However, the review section usually gives you a good snapshot of how moisturizing a majority of people find a soap. I look for a cumulative score of at least a 9 under the moisturizing category.

Col Conks almond is good also. Loaded with avocado oil and vitamin E. Maybe something from Susie's Bubbles with Shea Butter or Goats Milk added to. You get a lot of different scents from her.

Leche - I was just thinking today about the quote from Office Space in your signature. You obviously have a discerning sense of humor.

**Thread hijacking over. Please return to shaving soaps.**

I just wish I could express it how John C. McGinley did.
