Modifying Your Brush

I have an XL brush and the loft is a bit much. I've found that if I wrap something around the bottom, where the knot meets the brush, it turns it into a whole new brush. One that I really enjoy using. Right now I'm using one of my wifes hair ties but I'm looking for something that is more permanent. Can anyone suggest something so help me accomplish this task?

That hair tie is a good way to do it, as long as it fits properly. You might also try some O-rings or grommets, but I doubt they will perform any better than what you're already using.

This might seem a bit agricultural but if you visit a farmer you could use the rubber rings they use to castrate animals. Or the ones to dock sheep's tails. They have a tool to put them on which you will need, so maybe let the farmer dock your brush himself.

You can buy small velcro strips of various widths in sewing shops, or else rubber washers from the plumbing supply section of a hardware store.

Eh, this is what the B/S/T is for. If you try something out and don't like it, sell it!
There are great deals to be had every day here. Keep your eyes open, you'll find a smaller brush to replace that one with.

I've often wondered, doesn't tieing off part of the loft open up some possibilities of water or soap (or whatever) getting into the knot but not easily getting out?

I have a brush with some O-rings in its future.
