So, this morning I set my sights on an experiment. Back when I was a newbie, long time ago, I used the Personna blades exclusively from the grocery store. The shaves were great and I never had a problem. The blades were smooth and easy to use and when in my Merkur 180, did a passable job... Passable because I never, not once - until finding the online community, had even attempted a three pass shave. It was all one pass for yours truly. The dark ages.
So today, after a couple years of using Feather blades I decided to give a package of Personnas I found in the cabinet a go. Now, a Feather blade is noticeably thicker than a Personna. I'm sure it's less than a few nanometers but you can just tell. Not only in its flex but in the audible quality of the Personna. A Feather is practically mute by comparison.
Having it in my Fatboy seemed natural and worked fine. Good and comfortable. Two pass BBS. Minor touch up on chin. I'm faceturbating and not even blushing.
Then... three o'clock rolls around. And I find a patch. The hair directly in line with my chin to my adam's apple has stubble. No where else. I know I shaved that spot to BBS but I clearly didn't get as close as I thought, or perhaps the fact that my skin was saturated and has dried out in that area has accelerated the reveal of the pointy ends.
Has this happened to anyone else? A spot that was smooth spontaneously producing hair, while everywhere else is still smooth?
