Michelob Dunkel Weisse

is that the one that tastes of banana and cloves?i had one of the michelob specialty beers last year and thought it a rather odd taste but i cannot remember which one it was..the bock is not bad ,i've yet to try their porter.i usually drink abita turbo dog -a dark beer without the bitter aftertaste of most darks,

Whats your opinion on this brew? Its a little too sour for my taste. Is it representative of the real thing?

Wow. Had not seen it around. I do not know whether I think it is bad or good that Michelob is doing a Dunkel Weisse. Basically a German dark wheat ale. Should have some "sourness," really "fruitiness," compared to a lager, and maybe some clove and banana, but nothing as forward that way as a hefe weissen.

Turbo Dog is a true black lager, a schwartz bier. Not a stout or a porter, which are also very dark, if not "black," and which are by nature more bitter and heavy. Turbo Dog is wonderful. Perfect summer time beer.

Our illustrious governor had the wisdom to sign a bill allowing beer and wine with higher alcohol content to be sold in Alabama a few days ago. Hopefully we will soon be able to get some of these good imported beers now.....

It's about time! They've limited the alcohol content to such low limits for far too long down there, although it is a bit disappointing they only raised it to 13.9%. Granted it is a lot better than the 6% they limited Alabamans to and will definitely net you guys some great brews, but you'll still be missing out on the awesomeness of beers like Dogfish Head Fort! 18% Alcohol and all that raspberry beery goodness!
