Method shaving

Just watched video on method shaving. It does look like shaving! So what's the deal? I'm new to wet shaving, been in for about six months. Seems to be more of a product pitch than some ingenious technique. Heck I shave in different directions and use a thinner lather when I'm touching up the rough spots after making initial shave passes. I have started getting great shaves with little irritation, and I shave daily. So what am I missing?

Unfortunately Charles Roberts is no longer with us.

I agree, it always seemed like more of a product pitch, but I do recall a lot of guys using his methods/products with success. Just another way to skin a cat.

This confused me to no end when I first started. It was one of the first things I saw when I looked up traditional wet shaving, and I thought I needed all that stuff. Glad I found out I didn't.
